Philosophica is an international peer-reviewed journal, dedicated to cutting-edge research on all areas of the history of philosophy. It aims at fostering high-quality articles, both exegetical and critical, that may contribute to the renewal or progression of the study of topics, authors and schools from Ancient and Medieval to Contemporary Philosophy. The journal publishes articles in English, Portuguese, Spanish and French.
Philosophica was founded in 1993, at the University of Lisbon, and is a non-profit publishing venture, financed by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT). It is published twice a year (June/December) as an academic open access journal.
Philosophica follows a triple-blind refereeing procedure, and submissions are sent to two referees.
Philosophica is currently undergoing a major editorial change.
As a part of these changes, it will soon be published by the Philosophy Documentation Center (pdcnet.org), where it will also have a dedicated website.
